Hair today, gone tomorrow!!

Well the day has rolled around and with an initial conversation about  not shaving my hair for less than, £500 I am overwhelmed to have trebled that initial target.

Thank you all from the bottom of my very deep heart ♥

Here it is all gone! Picture taken in the salon directly after the event with my colleague Ray and between us we have raised just short of £3500 with donations still rolling in.

If you haven't sponsored me yet and would like to, no matter how small EVERY donation counts.

Book Club 30/52 - Another C.M.Owens

Becoming A Vincent (The Wild Ones, #1)

I have read several books by CM Owens who provides lighthearted escapism in the form of amusing romantic "chick flick" equivalent books - perfect when you have a busy week at work ahead of some time off for the summer when your brain can cope with no more.

We rank people based on just how crazy they are. And the four craziest families in town are called the Wild Ones. I’m on the bottom tier of those, so technically I’m not as crazy as the other Wild Ones. In fact, if it wasn’t for my brothers and their endless antics, I wouldn’t be considered a Wild One at all.

Anyway, I have a best friend who endures it all with me. Benson Nolans is my one, constant favorite person. Without him, I’d probably go really crazy, and not the fun kind. It’d be ridiculous, after three years of a flawless friendship, to mess that all up by falling for him.

I love this author and whilst this wasn't my favourite book by her it will still enjoyable.

July Gallery with Graphic 45

Not usually a big fan of Graphic 45 but I rose to the design team challenge this month and actually had a blast!

This page was lots of fussy cutting of one sheet of paper added to some card with a few extras and a little layering. It also met one of the recent Mind the Scrap challenges too to have a layout title featuring  the letter Q - there were plenty of "Quite the..... " pages!

This page led to lots of these papers flying off the shelf at ATDML as it's not often you can create such a full and colourful page with just one sheet of patterned paper!

I think I gave found the trick for me to using these heavily patterned and floral papers is to use them sparingly with lots of white space, in a more graphic style. Above I once again return to my love of the grid format.

ATDML July Virtual Crop Class with Simple Stories

Sharing my July Virtual crop day class with ATDML where I have created 2 layouts and a  bonus project using Simple Stories Say Cheese III collection.  Neither of my main layouts use Disney photos despite this being a Disney themed collection and the style of theme also means you could easily replicate with your own papers.

Instructions to make the pages can be found HERE and I hope to see a few of you trying the bonus project which is a movable, standing page.

July ATDML Moodboard challenge

Time for the ATDML July Mood Board challenge ahead of their virtual crop day tomorrow. Many of you will be thinking about or off on your holidays soon so this board is for you. Where do you dream of going? Have you been there? are you planning a trip?
The wood and outdoors pictures from this board open up many images you can scrap and you can include bird elements and leaf/branch punches too.  I love the distressed inky feel of the bottom right image and I also like the idea of using the block design with a circle feature of the board itself. Lots of ideas there for you, simply look at the image and be inspired to create.

Look forward to seeing your challenge pages in our ATDML Mood board gallery and don't forget to check out the blog tomorrow with three virtual crop classes from the team.

Book Club 29/52 - More Military Romance - Book 2 in series

35079586

Book Club 29/52 - Military Romantic Suspense series continued this week with the next in the series by Emily Jane Trent. This is a Standalone romantic book but not major soppy, the storyline is engaging and very well described and had me turning the pages and almost missing a stop on the commute to work!

Heiress Elizabeth Foster is a rebel, living on the fringes of her wealthy family’s influence. After witnessing an alarming subway accident, Elizabeth fears that she was the killer’s actual target. She turns to the one man she trusts, a former SEAL turned bodyguard. He is a childhood friend, and after ten years, she’s back under his protection.

Ex-SEAL Wyatt Mercer’s new assignment at Stealth Security brings his past back to haunt him. A woman he doesn’t expect appears in his life, and reaches out for his protection. He is sure that she isn’t telling him everything, but when the threats escalate he rises to the challenge of protecting her from the claws of her powerful enemies.

There are a few more in the series and I can't decide if I am going to carry on or come back to these another time.

Book Club 28/52 - Military Romantic Suspense series

Cold Peril: Military Romantic Suspense (Stealth Security Book 1) by [Trent, Emily Jane]

Another book where the cover looks like it is just a soppy romance but this book has a great storyline that is deeper than just making it a romance novel. Again I have never read anything by this author but have been pleased I chose this one. Here's what Amazon have to say about it

The Navy SEAL hero may be the wrong man to protect her.  Marlene Parks struggled to the top of her career in Hollywood, but with a heavy heart. Her father and older brother died in battle. Now at the pinnacle of her career, former military Garrett Flynn becomes her protector when a ruthless killer comes after her. But she doesn't know why she's the target.

It was so good and I ready it in just a few days and have already started the next in the series (although they are described as books which can be read as stand-alones the characters do overlap).

Book Club 27/52 - Sterling Shore series

Talk Nerdy To Me (The Sterling Shore Series Book 12) by [Owens, C.M.]

Book 12 in a series I have been reading over the last few years - no point telling you about this book if you haven't read the others but needless to say I love them all! C.M.Owens is a fab author and I haven't read a book by her that I don't love!
