Throwback Thursday

My maternal nan and I just a few months before she passed away. I miss chatting with my nan lots, she was so wise and always had time for tea and a chat and to work out with me whatever was on my mind. She would be proud of me continuing my studies I know so I post this Throwback Thursday post on the day of my second mock exam with fingers crossed she is watching over me.

Throwback Thursday with Tony Hart

1978 and this is me with artist Tony Hart. When I was seven I won an art competition the prize for which was £250 to spend on toys in Selfridges, London and afternoon tea with Tony Hart himself. I remember mum and I getting ready for this big adventure, she wore a faux fur coat and I had a new dress especially for the occasion. The train and visit to Selfridges was treat enough but I admit I was disappointed that Morph wasn't there!!

Another photograph that isn't that great a quality as it was taken from a newspaper article but I need to print it off and get this story in my scrapbook album of me.

Throwback Thursday - Royal Wedding 1981

Me (10) - bunny girl (how I wish my legs still looked like that!)
My brother (7) - Scarecrow (complained he was itchy all day!)
My sister (4) - cutest hula girl ever!

My mum was pretty damn creative with her home made costumes she would dec us out in, these being just an example of one occasion. She made all those pompoms my sister is wearing from tissue paper, and she made the grass skirt, my bunny ears and bow tie and the tray was repurposed for the day. Not sure my dad ever wore the t-shirt again she adapted for my brothers costume though!.

Whenever I wonder where my creativity comes from, I don't have to look very far. Just wish she was still with me x
Miss my mum

Throwback Thursday - In memory of Bernard Freeman

Not throwing back too far today - just to May 2013 and a photo of my youngest Jamie fishing with his grandad, my father-in-law who passed away earlier this month. My son adores this photo and the memories that go with it. So glad he got to have to make them xx

Throwback Thursday Love!

Feel the love this week as I share a valentine tree of love I made back in 2010. Every now and then I take my paper crafting off the page into a decorative item and I think this is among my favourites.

Have a LOVEly day blog readers xx

Throwback Thursday

Another Throwback Thursday - this photo makes me smile so much! A little burred I know but captures the cheeky smile and twinkle of mischief of my youngest Jamie, taken in 2009 just before his 2nd birthday. Hard to believe he turns 8 next week! Where does the time go?

I have been rushing around this week trying to get together bits and pieces for his birthday next Monday. Means I hit my target of 10,000 steps a day this week and achieved my bronze and silver body magic (exercise) awards at slimming world yesterday.

Now if I could only stop the bad snacks between my healthy meals.

I need more fruit & veg to shrink my inches!!

Throwback Thursday - Proud Grandma

Another throwback Thursday featuring my mum - this time a photo from 18 years ago with Ellie when she first became a Grandma. She was asked if she wanted to be a Nanny or a Grandma and chose the latter as my Nan (her mum) was still alive then and she didn't want them confused!

Funnily enough when my sister gave birth to her eldest some 14 years later mum changed her mind and so was known as Nanny to my nieces.

Still missing that smile of hers so very much xx
Funeral is next Tuesday.

Throwback Thursday - A snowy day in Dec 2010

Throwback Thursday and this chilly day reminds me of a December walk I took with my mum and kids back in 2010. We travelled to her house which was just under an hour away from ours because she had seen snowfall over night (enough for small people to build snowmen) and we had seen but a smattering. The kids begged me to take them over so they could play but to be honest I think mum had more fun building and decorating the snowmen with ivy necklaces than the boys!
.

Fond memories of my mum called to mind to make me smile.

Festive Throwback Thursday & more December Daily

A rather festive throwback Thursday today - hubby and I Christmas 2009. We are both so much fitter and healthier now and this pleases me no end as it means we are setting good role model examples for our children. Indeed our Robert has been competing in two cross country competitions and along with his monthly time-trial race has not had a weekend off racing for a month and with a forthcoming karate grading this weekend he never ceases to amaze me with his fitness and sheer determination. Only last weekend he broke the 10 minute barrier on his month time-trial knocking almost a minute off his original time in the summer.

I've also been keeping up (almost) with my December Daily album and this is part of the 7th of December.

and this is the second part. I love the flipable page protectors from Simple Stories. More to follow of course and much festivities in our house with my Christmas Carol bumper crop this weekend. So excited to share with the ladies what I've been preparing!!

Throwback Thursday

I can hardly believe this was four and half years ago, nor how much weight I have lost since these were taken. I feel like I am almost in a constant battle with my weight lately falling so easily off the healthy eating wagon. I had lost 3 stone since these were taken, sadly put half of that back on in the last year. I am back at slimming world though and back in the gym and hoping for a good weight loss this week or at the very least less inches!

In respect of the layout  design I have used this format a couple of times now, including the page below that I taught at Eclectic Keepsakes crop in the same year.  My time sure does fly!

Throwback Thursday

Here is my Throwback Thursday image for this chilly day!  I can't believe I created this layout of my Ellie and her crazy friends last June, it seemed far more recent to me. I do love layouts that feature geometric shapes repeating and have been reminded I have a larger triangle die that I have as yet to play with. Think that might make a creative appearance this weekend when I plan to play along with this months ATDML goodies. I also love this grey/teal/yellow mix and should use it more often.

Next weekend sees another virtual crop with my design team companions and I am teaching a fun interactive page with a spooky feel (although the papers aren't Halloween that is just how I have chosen to use them!). Pop over to Created by ATDML and find our more how you can get prepared for our online creative day.

Throwback Thursday - Summer!

Bringing a little sunshine your way on my Throwback Thursday post this week with a Summer layout I created 4 years ago for a sketch challenge on a Canadian blog. I cannot for the life of my remember the papers used here - anyone recognise them? But I am still fond of the layout style,  the shapes, the journaling around the circles in addition to the extended title too. Might have to scraplift myself here and try this style of page our again - anyone want to join me?

Throwback Thursday - Scenic Route "Me"

Well this page sure takes me back, created in 2009 as part of a UK Scrappers cybercrop challenge - how can this be 5 years ago - if I remember correctly I won a prize for this too! Papers were by Scenic Route (used to like their products) and I think this might well have been the start of my love of kraft cardstock!

Talking of Cybercrops we are busy planning and plotting in the A Trip Down Memory Lane design team corner of Facebook for a forthcoming cybercrop with classes and challenges from the ATDML team so watch this space for more news!!

In the meantime if you are playing along with Throwback Thursday let me know!

Throwback Thursday - Canvey Island

My three squishy babies - photo from August 2009 taken in Canvey Island on a splendid day out - seems like yesterday so I can hardly believe it has almost been 5 years! Time sure does fly.  Pretty sure I have scrapbooked this photo but I cannot recall the page so I will dig out my albums and flick through to try and find it - and if I don't I think I may just have to print this off and remedy that!.

Joining in on Throwback Thursday? Let me know if you are below xx

Throwback Thursday - Prima

Both a photo (from circa 1975/6) and a Prima layout for this weeks throwback Thursday post. This is my brother and I and it's a very precious photo to me. We are super close and I still hug him this tight each time I see him.

The layout was one I taught at a ATDML Spring 2011 retreat where there was a significant amount of hand cutting of flowers and the frame shown here. Still love this page to this day (and I don't always feel that way about my older pages!). Anyone remember taking this class with me?

Are you sharing your Throwback Thursday memories? Leave a comment with details so I can come share with you!

Throwback Thursday - Love your Converse

Layout from November 2011 for Throwback Thursday which is a thing by all accounts, has it's own twitter hash tag and everything! #tbt.  According to Urban dictionary it is "When you put a picture from a "while" ago on your social media sites"

So, I thought I could share a layout or photo from back when each Thursday here on my blog. If you already play along with this leave me a link to your throwback image as I'd love to see!

For the record this layout was created for the ATDML gallery using (I think) 7Gypsies papers.
